Your engine is one of, if not the most important major component of your car. Without it working in good order, it's impossible for you to go anywhere. If it runs inefficiently, you may face a whole host of problems that can be avoided with relatively simple maintenance. At Save On Auto Care we provide all of the expertise and parts needed to keep your engine running happily and at peak efficiency.
One of the simplest ways to determine the condition of your engine is to examine the oil that drains out during an oil change. The oil circulates through much of your engine, so it's a great way to determine the overall health of your car's power plant. Ideally, we want your oil to be darker than when it went in with uniform viscosity and no solid particles. Solid particles are a major concern because they mean that something inside the engine, be it a seal or anything else, is breaking apart. Engines contain a lot of finely balanced mechanisms with only a few micrometers of space for moving parts to clear each other. Any solid particles moving through your engine can cause a massive amount of damage very quickly. At Save On Auto Care we perform expert analysis on your oil to make sure that everything is working perfectly within your engine's internals, and we carry the best oils to replace that fluid in your vehicle.
Another simple item that can save your engine untold misery, is the coolant fluid, which keeps everything running at the correct temperature. The many moving parts inside your engine, as well as the explosions taking place within its combustion chambers, generate a significant amount of heat. As with any machine, your engine has temperature tolerances at which it happily operates. Once those tolerances are exceeded, things can start to go wrong. A common side effect of overheating can be radiator failure. The water that cools the engine becomes heated and pressurizes the radiator past a safe level causing the scalding water to spray out. This dangerous problem can be avoided with the engine coolants used by Save On Auto Care.
To work efficiently, your car's engine needs the ingredients for combustion to be delivered in the purest form possible. To this end your engine contains a number of filters which keep everything nice and clean. Save On Auto Care's engine thorough maintenance keeps checks on your air, oil, and fuel filters, replacing them as needed to keep your car running at its highest efficiency.
Fuel Injector Cleaning
Working alongside your spark plugs are the injectors that shoot a precise amount of fuel into the combustion chamber. Over time these injectors can become clogged with contaminants from fuel. Save On Auto Care carries a line of specially developed injector cleaning solutions which open the injector tubing back up and get your car back to making the most power that it can.
Engine accessories such as the alternator and air conditioning compressor rely on belts that take power from the engine to run them. Over time, these belts can become frayed and damaged. If your alternator belt snaps, for example, your engine won't be able to generate the electricity it needs to charge the battery and keep itself running. Save On Auto Care can keep a close eye on the health of your accessory belts and ensure that all your engine's pulleys are lined up perfectly to allow for the maximum amount of use from your belts.
Check Engine Light
No one likes to see their car's "Check Engine" light come on. The light could mean a costly problem, like a bad catalytic converter, or it could be something minor, like a loose gas cap. At Save On Auto Care, we can pull the code and diagnose the problem for you. Give us a call at 909-920-9492 or stop by the shop for our expert assistance.
Although diesel engines don't require tune-ups and tend to last longer than gasoline engines, they do require regular maintenance. Typical maintenance tasks include:
You can count on the experts at Save On Auto Care to help your diesel engine last a long time.
Fuel injection is a system for admitting fuel into an engine. Since 1990, fuel injectors have completely replaced carburetors as the primary means of getting gasoline into the engine. A fuel injector atomizes the fuel by forcibly pumping it through a small nozzle (under high pressure). Failure of the fuel injection system means poor performance and ultimately destroys the engine. Make sure your vehicle's fuel injection system is maintained properly. For all your fuel injection maintenance and replacement needs, call 909-920-9492 or visit Save On Auto Care today.
An ignition system is a system for igniting (using an electric spark) a mixture of fuel and air in a gasoline engine. A properly working ignition system means a properly starting engine and high performance from your car. For all your ignition system maintenance and replacement needs, call or visit Save On Auto Care today.
Ignition Wires & Cables
Ignition cables also known as spark plug wires are an important part of your car's ignition system. They transfer the spark from the ignition coil to spark plugs that ignite the mixture of fuel and air. The mixture starts the engine. Over time, ignition wires and cables get weak and break down. This makes it impossible for the spark to reach the engine cylinders. This results in the engine misfiring. The car will eventually fail to start. If it does start, it will run poorly. Common symptoms of faulty ignition cables and wires are: poor gas mileage, engine misfires, engine light is on, and engine may vibrate. If your car needs new ignition cables and wires, call or visit Save On Auto Care in Upland, CA 91786. Here, you will have the wires and cables changed by a top-rated mechanic.
Oil, Lube, and Filter
To keep running smoothly, your car highly relies on oil, lube, and oil filters. Oil helps in lubricating, cooling, and cleaning the internal engine components. With time, motor oil becomes contaminated. Your car needs an oil, lube, and filter change every three months (or 3,000 miles). When it is time for a lube, oil, or filter change, take your vehicle to Save On Auto Care in Upland, CA 91786.
A spark plug delivers electric current to the combustion chamber from the ignition system. Spark plugs that haven't been changed for a long time can cause ignition problems. At Save On Auto Care, we have automotive experts who will check and replace your spark plugs. For all your spark plug repair or replacement needs, call 909-920-9492 or visit Save On Auto Care today.

I came in after my car had broken down on the freeway. The owner made me feel at ease right away. He kept me updated frequently on the status of my car. He even offered to keep his shop open a little later so that I can come drop off my new car battery. Truly exceptional customer service, professional, and fair pricing! David and his team are very caring and friendly. I will definitely bring my car here for all repairs from now on. I highly recommend this great place!
Today I went to Save On Auto Care for a smog check they are so nice & polite. They were so fast I was in & out in minutes. I will be going back for auto service!! THANK YOU so much again!!!
Took my car here for a diagnostic check because my traction control light and my check engine light came on and was very pleased with this shop they found that my camshaft sensor went out also my wiring harness was shorting out the staff was very helpful and nice I will be returning for all my automotive repairs in the future.
This place is great. Reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly. I've been here 3 times and very satisfied each time.
Excellent service. Tells you exactly what needs to be done. Dave was very specific on what is necessary and what repairs are to be scheduled at a future time. I would rate this auto service 5 stars and would highly recommend them.
I haven't needed their services in quite some time. However, today, I came in regarding my water pump, and I spoke with Paul. He took the to check under my hood to confirm my suspicions. Instead of just doing the work to charge me, he advised me that he thought my vehicle was still under warranty and to verify with the local Chevy deal. They "lost" a repair job, but strengthened their stellar reputation. It is so difficult to find a honest mechanic, but look no further then Save On Auto Care.
Always great service up front by Cindy and the girls, and great service by the guys in the back! Very fair and very friendly; highly recommend them. I've been bringing my vehicles here for several years.
There is no other place that I would take my car for service, David will always do what is right and will take care of your vehicles like they are his. I appreciate everything you have done to service all our vehicles....A million thank yous!!!
I have been bringing our 2008 Honda Accord here for many years and never cease to be amazed at how good their service is. Cindy is always upbeat and easy to work with. I highly recommend their shop for their excellent service and they stand behind their work 100%. They work on all imports and specialize in servicing Toyotas and Hondas. They will have all my business on my Camry too.
Came in for the first time, got an oil change. I didn't have an appointment, only waited about 30 mins. Very friendly staff, nice waiting area, lots of magazines, coffee, & a fridge with water. Close to home, I think I've found my new auto shop!
I'm a return customer since 2014 for car maintenance and check engine light. Cindy is always cheerful as well helpful and informative. Scheduling an appointment is a breeze. David and the team here really know what they are doing and give you honest recommendations. This is our go to place. Highly recommend
I have a 2007 Honda Accord, the guys at Save on Auto Care. Have helped to take care of my car over the years. With regular scheduled service I am well over 200,000 miles on my car and will be rolling into 300 soon. The honest, well priced service I receive gives me peace of mind as I make my commute everyday. Thanks for keeping my car on the road and me safe!
I absolutely feel that my car & I are in the best of hands at Save On. I bought my car years ago because it was cute & I had no idea how particular the make was in terms of parts ( Volkswagen ). I can't describe the recent ordeal that took I think 3 weeks to resolve. But David & the rest of the team worked hard to find the exact used part I needed in order to save the additional money that a new part would cost from the dealership. And when I went to pay the bill, I know they showed kindness to me once again. David & the rest of the staff have great automotive knowledge, they complete work timely & always have fair prices. I feel safe recommending Save On to family & friends, especially in terms of fair pricing & sound repairs.
This shop is amazing. I can't explain how Cindy is. She understood my situation and you wouldn't believe what they could have charged me but didn't. Then the owner really helped me out of a bad spot. The best auto repair shop by far that I've ever dealt with. But THE BEST thing about this shop is Cindy. She's professional, friendly, understanding and pleasant to deal with.
One of the best experiences I've had taking my car to a shop. From the start they did everything they could to make my life easier during my cars repairs. An honest, upfront family run shop that I recommend for any of your auto needs!
Went in for a brake and lamp inspection. Service was fast and excellent. Will be back for my smog check. Highly recommend. Great service!!!
I came here for the first time today for a oil change and brake service. When I mentioned that they priced their brake service higher than the special offered at the dealership, they gave me a very generous discount. They offered cold water, soda, or coffee at the front and the woman who works in the front was very helpful and professional. I appreciate the service and I will definitely be returning.
Very professional business as well as the service reps here. Very easy to deal with and amazing customer service. This is a one stop shop for all your automotive needs! They helped me out and took care of me for an inspection that I needed to do on my car, they also checked everything out and made sure all was good!
Quick stop here for a smog check after being suggested by AAA. Fast service, fair prices, and good vibes from the crew. Definitely will come back if I need anything done to the daily.
Kind and friendly. They provide drinks and snacks while you wait. Good and inexpensive services. The name says it all.
