At Save On Auto Care, we understand the terror that comes with the words "transmission repair" and we want you to know that there is hope after all. Whether manual or automatic, heavy duty or low range, the transmission is a vital part at the center of your vehicle's drivetrain. Your transmission is instrumental in turning the engine's power into forward movement, so it's not surprising that problems with this important component can cripple your car. The experts at Save On Auto Care have years of experience working on transmissions of all types and sizes. When everything grinds to a halt we have the skills to get you moving forward once more.
One of the easiest ways to avoid a large transmission repair bill is to flush the fluid according to the vehicle manufacturer's guidelines. Your transmission contains a lot of intricate moving parts which can deteriorate quickly if not properly lubricated. Save On Auto Care's technicians can take a sample of your transmission fluid and determine how long it will be before it's time to renew. When that time comes, we can have you in and out of the shop quickly.
Sometimes our technicians don't get to look at the problem until after something has gone wrong. While this is certainly more serious than a simple transmission fluid change, it doesn't have to spell disaster. At Save On Auto Care, our expert technicians can carefully disassemble your transmission, identify any faults, and determine whether repairs can be made or not. We utilize an extensive network of parts suppliers, manufacturer knowledge, and expert repair skills to get your transmission repaired, and your vehicle back on the roads of Upland, CA.
At its most basic, your car's clutch allows the engine and gearbox to engage and disengage from each other between gear changes. This means that although the engine's output shaft is still spinning, there is no load on the gears which may cause them to shift improperly. Once the next gear is smoothly selected your clutch will re-engage the engine and gearbox, resuming forward momentum. Over time, and especially in improperly operated manual transmission vehicles, the clutch can become worn and less effective at its job. A damaged clutch can allow the engine and gearbox to re-engage mid-gear change, and this can have serious effects on the health of your transmission. Save On Auto Care determines the health of your clutch through diagnostic testing as well as test driving. As with a transmission fluid flush, we'll have your car back on the road and your peace of mind stretching for miles.
Another area of our gear-based expertise is your car's differentials. These sit in the middle of your car's axles between the wheels and are vital for a smooth ride. As you turn a corner, the outside wheel has to travel a greater distance than the inside wheel. Without properly functioning differentials, the wheels would turn at the same rate causing your car to vibrate horribly, and struggle to turn whenever you tried to go around a corner. When it comes to examining, diagnosing, and fixing faulty differentials, our experience with transmissions makes Save On Auto Care the best place to go in Upland, CA.
Avoid transmission disaster by coming in and having your transmission, clutch, and differentials checked out today. Call us at 909-920-9492 or visit us in Upland, CA so we can schedule an appointment to ensure your car is in tip-top shape!
Our competitively priced transmission services include:
Automatic Transmissions shift between gears automatically to optimize driving, and changes gears based on the driver's throttle pedal, vehicle speed, engine speed, and vehicle load. Typical automatic transmissions have 4-5 forward gear ratios, a Reverse, Park, and Neutral gear. Shifting gears occur automatically once the car is in Drive and there is no need for a clutch pedal or gear shift like there is in a Manual Transmission. Automatic transmission repair is complicated based on all the components that make it up, and you need to have any automatic transmission issues properly assessed by auto mechanics. Call 909-920-9492 to talk to the mechanics of Save On Auto Care about your transmission problems.
There are clutches in both automatic and manual transmission cars, and different types of clutches. When shifting gears, the clutch engages and disengages from the flywheel and transfers the torque through the transmission. Clutches should help your vehicle start and shift gears smoothly. The clutch in your car receives a lot of wear and can eventually wear out. If your clutch begins slipping irregularly or is making noises that are raising suspicion, contact Save On Auto Care to see if clutch replacement is necessary.
Four-Wheel Drive Transmission
A four-wheel (4x4) drive vehicle has differential gears, both front and rear axles, and a transfer case attached to the transmission. Four-wheel drive vehicles demand maintenance on the transfer case, front differentials, rear differentials, and transmission fluids. Visit us on 1004 W 9th St for service on your four-wheel drive transmission services.
Front-Wheel Drive Transmission
If your vehicle has Front-wheel drive, the engine drives the front wheels only. The power is routed through the transmission to the final drive where it is split and sent to the two front wheels through the drive axles. The engine, transmission, and additional hardware is all located in the front of the car. If you are in need, Save On Auto Care of Upland, CA will gladly repair front-wheel drive transmission vehicles.
Driving a vehicle with a Manual Transmission requires using the clutch pedal and gear shift to manually shift gears based on the speed of the vehicle. Manual transmissions have been built with anywhere from two to eight gears. Front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive are the two main configurations for manual transmissions. Typically, manual transmissions require less maintenance then automatic transmissions. At Save On Auto Care, our auto mechanics can diagnose your vehicle and then recommend the transmission repair or transmission service you need to ensure safety and improve the lifetime of your vehicle.
In motor vehicles, the transmission usually refers to the gear box, which uses gears and gear trains to transmit speed and tourque from a rotating power source to another device. You can have your car's transmission replaced with a new, rebuilt, remanufactured, repaired or used transmission. For more information contact Save On Auto Care in Upland, CA. Our experienced service technicians can help you make the best decision for your vehicle and your wallet.

A transfer case is a part of a four wheel drive system found in four wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicles. The transfer case receives power from the transmission and sends it to both the front and rear axles. This can be done with a set of gears, but the majority of transfer cases manufactured today are chain driven. The transfer case is connected to the transmission and also to the front and rear axles by means of drive shafts.Trust the automotive experts at Save On Auto Care for all your transmission repairs.
I came in after my car had broken down on the freeway. The owner made me feel at ease right away. He kept me updated frequently on the status of my car. He even offered to keep his shop open a little later so that I can come drop off my new car battery. Truly exceptional customer service, professional, and fair pricing! David and his team are very caring and friendly. I will definitely bring my car here for all repairs from now on. I highly recommend this great place!
Today I went to Save On Auto Care for a smog check they are so nice & polite. They were so fast I was in & out in minutes. I will be going back for auto service!! THANK YOU so much again!!!
Took my car here for a diagnostic check because my traction control light and my check engine light came on and was very pleased with this shop they found that my camshaft sensor went out also my wiring harness was shorting out the staff was very helpful and nice I will be returning for all my automotive repairs in the future.
This place is great. Reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly. I've been here 3 times and very satisfied each time.
Excellent service. Tells you exactly what needs to be done. Dave was very specific on what is necessary and what repairs are to be scheduled at a future time. I would rate this auto service 5 stars and would highly recommend them.
I haven't needed their services in quite some time. However, today, I came in regarding my water pump, and I spoke with Paul. He took the to check under my hood to confirm my suspicions. Instead of just doing the work to charge me, he advised me that he thought my vehicle was still under warranty and to verify with the local Chevy deal. They "lost" a repair job, but strengthened their stellar reputation. It is so difficult to find a honest mechanic, but look no further then Save On Auto Care.
Always great service up front by Cindy and the girls, and great service by the guys in the back! Very fair and very friendly; highly recommend them. I've been bringing my vehicles here for several years.

I have been bringing our 2008 Honda Accord here for many years and never cease to be amazed at how good their service is. Cindy is always upbeat and easy to work with. I highly recommend their shop for their excellent service and they stand behind their work 100%. They work on all imports and specialize in servicing Toyotas and Hondas. They will have all my business on my Camry too.
Came in for the first time, got an oil change. I didn't have an appointment, only waited about 30 mins. Very friendly staff, nice waiting area, lots of magazines, coffee, & a fridge with water. Close to home, I think I've found my new auto shop!
I'm a return customer since 2014 for car maintenance and check engine light. Cindy is always cheerful as well helpful and informative. Scheduling an appointment is a breeze. David and the team here really know what they are doing and give you honest recommendations. This is our go to place. Highly recommend
I have a 2007 Honda Accord, the guys at Save on Auto Care. Have helped to take care of my car over the years. With regular scheduled service I am well over 200,000 miles on my car and will be rolling into 300 soon. The honest, well priced service I receive gives me peace of mind as I make my commute everyday. Thanks for keeping my car on the road and me safe!
I absolutely feel that my car & I are in the best of hands at Save On. I bought my car years ago because it was cute & I had no idea how particular the make was in terms of parts ( Volkswagen ). I can't describe the recent ordeal that took I think 3 weeks to resolve. But David & the rest of the team worked hard to find the exact used part I needed in order to save the additional money that a new part would cost from the dealership. And when I went to pay the bill, I know they showed kindness to me once again. David & the rest of the staff have great automotive knowledge, they complete work timely & always have fair prices. I feel safe recommending Save On to family & friends, especially in terms of fair pricing & sound repairs.
This shop is amazing. I can't explain how Cindy is. She understood my situation and you wouldn't believe what they could have charged me but didn't. Then the owner really helped me out of a bad spot. The best auto repair shop by far that I've ever dealt with. But THE BEST thing about this shop is Cindy. She's professional, friendly, understanding and pleasant to deal with.
One of the best experiences I've had taking my car to a shop. From the start they did everything they could to make my life easier during my cars repairs. An honest, upfront family run shop that I recommend for any of your auto needs!
Went in for a brake and lamp inspection. Service was fast and excellent. Will be back for my smog check. Highly recommend. Great service!!!
I came here for the first time today for a oil change and brake service. When I mentioned that they priced their brake service higher than the special offered at the dealership, they gave me a very generous discount. They offered cold water, soda, or coffee at the front and the woman who works in the front was very helpful and professional. I appreciate the service and I will definitely be returning.
Very professional business as well as the service reps here. Very easy to deal with and amazing customer service. This is a one stop shop for all your automotive needs! They helped me out and took care of me for an inspection that I needed to do on my car, they also checked everything out and made sure all was good!
Quick stop here for a smog check after being suggested by AAA. Fast service, fair prices, and good vibes from the crew. Definitely will come back if I need anything done to the daily.
Kind and friendly. They provide drinks and snacks while you wait. Good and inexpensive services. The name says it all.
